Alyce Jean Marlow Bishop, Coleman, FL
      .
Alyce Jean Marlow Bishop, 84, of Coleman, Florida and formerly of Linden, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the Lane Purcell Cornerstone Hospice House in Sumterville, Florida. She was born on August 27, 1936 in Manatee, Florida. She is predeceased by her parents, Wade Henderson Marlow and A.Z. “Annie” Lammon Marlow; her sister, Sara (Raymond) Marlow Cecil; and her husband, Edwin Clark Bishop, Sr.

Survivors include her sons Edwin Clark (Paige) Bishop, Jr. of Oxford, Florida; Eric (Brigitte) Bishop of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; and her daughter, Nancy Bishop of Coleman, Florida. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Kasie Jean (Natividad) Bishop De La Luz of Denton, Texas; Leslie (Aaron) Bishop Smith of Denton, Texas; Austin (Lyndsae) Bishop, Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; and Ashton Bishop of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; Christopher (Nicole) Vann of Inverness, Florida; Zackary (Rebecca) Vann of Lake Miona, Florida; and 9 (soon to be 10) great grandchildren; nieces Becky Cecil Collet of Bushnell, Florida and Sara Cecil Ingram of Belleview, Florida.

Alyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She retired in 2000 with the Sumter County, Florida Clerk of Courts. She enjoyed tending orchids and to the whims of her dogs, Jack, Jill and Toby while tolerating the hated junkyard cat, Cammie Sue. She made the best Sunday dinner of roast beef, conch/black eyed peas, rice and gravy her family ever tasted. Her stories of her childhood with her crazy sister, Sara Marlow Cecil entertained many. She will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Bushnell, 125 West Anderson Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513; Sumter Schools Enhancement Foundation, 2680 WC 476, Bushnell, Florida 33513; or the Lane Purcell Hospice House at 2452 CR 526E, Sumterville, Fl. 33585.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 3pm at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, Florida with Pastor Doug Watkins officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, Florida.
