    Note from daughters Alyce Marlow Bishop and Sara Marlow Cecil:

    A Z Lammon - was raised in and around Hartford, Alabama. She studied nursing but due to the depression could not afford money for books to finish. In the 1930s, she moved to Florida with Aline Lammon, her sister. Both sisters lived in Manatee when A Z Lammon married Wade H. Marlow. Wade Marlow worked for the Seaboard Railroad, so the family moved frequently. They had two daughters, Sara and Alyce. A Z and family lived in West Lake Wales, Florida, for many years until Wade was transferred to Miami, Florida. Wade retired due to ill health and died of a stroke on January 22, 1957. A Z remained in Miami working as a seamstress until she retired. She died August 26, 1992 in Miami, Florida, of a stroke. A Z loved to garden and do yard work. She enjoyed traveling. She was interested in politics and was a special mother to Sara and Alyce Marlow. She has 5 grandchildren to carry on “The Lammon Tree”

    Ann married Wade Henderson Marlow on 30 Jul 1932 in Manatee, Manatee County, Florida.     The following note from Alyce and Sara Marlow:

    Aline and A Z 'Annie' Lammon left Hartford Alabama, in the early 1930s. This was during the depression when work was hard to find. They lived in Manatee, Florida, where they met and married their husbands. Both sisters lived in Florida the rest of their lives. They lived mainly in central and south Florida and remained very close all of their lives.

    Aline worked many different jobs. In Lake Wales, Florida, she worked in a large citrus canning plant. In Miami, she worked in dress factories and shirt factories sewing. She learned to make custom slipcovers for furniture and drapes. She opened her own shop for a couple of years and later moved the business to her home.

    She was still working in Miami when she died after hip joint replacement surgery in 1982. She had no children but everyone should have an Aunt like her. When mama said “no”, Aline always fixed the hurt. She was funloving and a joy to be around -- Alyce and Sara Marlow.

    Aline married Davis B Bennett in 1930 in Manatee, Manatee County, Florida. Davis was born in 1899; died in 1963 in Lake Wales, Polk County, Florida; was buried on 22 Dec 1963 in Lake Wales, Polk County, Florida. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Obituary

    Sara Ann Cecil, 85, of Bushnell and formerly of Miami passed away on July 19, 2020 at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont after a long illness. She was born on October 17, 1934 in Bushnell, Florida to Wade Henderson Marlow and A.Z. (Lammon) Marlow. Sara was the loving wife of the late Raymond Cecil until his passing in 2002. Prior to her illness she was an active member at First Baptist Church in Bushnell serving in Sunday School and VBS. She was employed for many years at the Miami Social Security Office until her retirement. Sara was a huge support to all those around her and always had an open door to encourage those that needed it the most.

    She is survived by her daughters: Becky Rae Collet of Bushnell and Sara Ingram (Michael) of Ocala; grandchildren: Emily, Abbie, and Noah; sister: Alyce Bishop; nieces and nephews: Clark, Eric, and Nancy Bishop. She was loved by many and will be missed greatly.

    Services will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist of Bushnell, 125 W. Anderson Ave. with Pastor Doug Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg.

    Sara married Raymond Lawrence Cecil on 7 Oct 1961 in Miami, Dade County, Florida. Raymond was born on 2 Jul 1919; died on 9 Apr 2002; was buried in Leesburg, Lake County, Florida. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Alyce Jean Marlow Bishop, 84, of Coleman, Florida and formerly of Linden, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the Lane Purcell Cornerstone Hospice House in Sumterville, Florida. She was born on August 27, 1936 in Manatee, Florida. She is predeceased by her parents, Wade Henderson Marlow and A.Z. “Annie” Lammon Marlow; her sister, Sara (Raymond) Marlow Cecil; and her husband, Edwin Clark Bishop, Sr.

    Survivors include her sons Edwin Clark (Paige) Bishop, Jr. of Oxford, Florida; Eric (Brigitte) Bishop of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; and her daughter, Nancy Bishop of Coleman, Florida. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Kasie Jean (Natividad) Bishop De La Luz of Denton, Texas; Leslie (Aaron) Bishop Smith of Denton, Texas; Austin (Lyndsae) Bishop, Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; and Ashton Bishop of Lake Panasoffkee, Florida; Christopher (Nicole) Vann of Inverness, Florida; Zackary (Rebecca) Vann of Lake Miona, Florida; and 9 (soon to be 10) great grandchildren; nieces Becky Cecil Collet of Bushnell, Florida and Sara Cecil Ingram of Belleview, Florida.

    Alyce was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She retired in 2000 with the Sumter County, Florida Clerk of Courts. She enjoyed tending orchids and to the whims of her dogs, Jack, Jill and Toby while tolerating the hated junkyard cat, Cammie Sue. She made the best Sunday dinner of roast beef, conch/black eyed peas, rice and gravy her family ever tasted. Her stories of her childhood with her crazy sister, Sara Marlow Cecil entertained many. She will be greatly missed.

    In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Bushnell, 125 West Anderson Avenue, Bushnell, Florida 33513; Sumter Schools Enhancement Foundation, 2680 WC 476, Bushnell, Florida 33513; or the Lane Purcell Hospice House at 2452 CR 526E, Sumterville, Fl. 33585.
    A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 3pm at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg, Florida with Pastor Doug Watkins officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell, Florida.
